Occhio’s trade fair stand at Light+Building this year was awarded the »Best of the Best« in the »Red Dot Award Communication 2014« – a recognition of the highest quality of design. The central symbol of the trade fair stand: the »Plus«, describing the company’s handling of the technological change. Occhio exploits it to generate added value for the user. Every Occhio product innovation is available in state-of-the-art LED technology. As well as maximum efficiency, the Occhio »high color« LEDs ensure the best colour reproduction and therefore light quality of the highest level. The trade fair stand was conceived, designed and constructed by the brand agency Martin et Karczinski in close collaboration with Jürgen Drändle from Drändle 70|30, Munich.
In meetings over several days the international panel of judges assessed the 7,096 entries live on the spot. Among the numerous works each year there are some whose uniqueness makes them especially impressive and which are honoured with the Red Dot: Best of the Best award. This year the panel of judges gave the coveted award to 102 outstanding creations.
The Red Dot Design Award is one of the world’s biggest design competitions. What is now the North-Rhine Westphalia Design Centre started honouring outstanding designs back in 1954. The coveted Red Dot has established itself as an internationally recognised seal of quality and is awarded in the categories Product Design, Design Concept and Communication Design.
